Why not?

Saw this on a couple of blogs so I've decided to do my own take of the abc's of me:
Oh hello blog, long time no see
>> Thursday, September 1, 2011
I'm so sad I haven't had much any time to blog. I'm working part-time only so you'd think I would have more free time but before you know it, I'm caught in a routine I can't seem to get out of.
Grateful

Today I'm grateful for the opportunity to start a new week, for testimonies, nap/cuddle time with my cute nephew and for making it a whole week without a single unhealthy craving.
Tomorrow, my doctor and I will develop a new plan for me. I'm really anxious and excited to help my body get back in track again.
Weekend in Mexico

Sunday was our 2-year anniversary. Crazy how fast time has passed. Excited for the many many years to come :) I love my husband Read more...
One year older (and wiser too)...

Today, I'm 24! Seems like all that means is that I'm one year closer to getting a normal rate on car rentals and 6 years till I'm 30. whoah. But I have to make the most out of my 24 years of living ;) Lots to accomplish. Watched Harry Potter last night with my friend Shalane. I was really sad to see it end and it really made me realize how old I am. After, I had an early birthday dinner with friends (which I'll post pictures of later) at Benihana. Jared works till midnight and my family's off vacationing in Cancun today, so I think I'll probably be celebrating in a relaxing way today...

Summer according to Pinterest
>> Tuesday, June 21, 2011
Summer has officially started, even though here in Arizona it feels like summer way before the good ol' summer solstice. Here are some of the images (via Pinterest) that really captures what Summer is to me and why I love it so much. Yes it's hot and being outside makes you want to melt into a big puddle. And yes, you secretly wish you could run around naked. But I love it. This is why:
Swimming... hanging out by the pool. Especially now that I have a pool :) I reaaally need a tan.
Eating (and drinking) lots and lots of fruit! I love that all my favorites are in season- strawberries and melons, and mangoes yum! Doesn't the above recipe look delicious? I'll have to make it soon.
Summer makes me think of summer vacations- especially when there's a beach involved. My parents are teachers so every summer they'd have off and we got to go on lots of family vacations. It's kind of funny but I didn't realize it until I got married that not everyone has the whole summer off. People still gotta work (unfortunately that means Jared and I too) to pay the rent! sigh. But hey, we might plan a mini vacation to the beach for our anniversary! :)
I will be living in bermuda shorts. I can't stand wearing long pants in the summer. Hate the sweaty leg feeling.
Although I'm not even close to ready for bathing suit season, these bathing suits are super cute!
Lots of color, lots of sun! and a cute hat!
and finally, summer's for celebrating birthdays (sister, bro and sis in laws, nephew, and mine) and anniversaries (my parents and mine)! Read more...
Friday night and I just got paid...
>> Monday, June 13, 2011
My blog title reminds me of the *NSync song "Just Got Paid" haha. I remember dancing to it in dance class freshmen or sophomore year. Lol ah the memories. A bunch of us got together for dinner on friday night and we had a blast. All except Aaron and Clarissa (brother and sister in-law) go to the same ward together. It's so great to have couple friends. It's funny because we all got married within months of each other. Edward and Denis in December of '08, Aaron and Clarissa and Daniel and Dacil in April '09. Then Rudy and Adriana in May and us in July.
Anyways, sushi from RA is soo good and I had leftovers for lunch- yum! Then we headed to Enzo's Gelato. A medium cup of mango, chocolate, and coconut was just the perfect combination. Reminds me of my trip to Europe. My last night in Rome, Italy my friends and I had decided to stay up all night and buy a kilo of Gelato. I don't think we were able to finish it. But hey, we were ambitious. Not to mention exhausted the next day but we did have plenty of hours to sleep on the flight back home. One day, I'll go back! Anyways, back to friday night. To end the night, we all headed to my new casa (which I still need to blog about I know) to watch True Grit.
We are almost completely organized here at home, but work is keeping me from taking the time to put up pictures/decorate/etc. On a different note... guess what?! I went to another acupuncture session and they ran some labs and it looks like my liver enzyme levels are almost completely back to normal. I can almost say I have no liver disease! It's funny because my regular doctors told me there was really nothing I could do and that I'd probably get cirrhosis in 20 years- wha?! yeah... not a good option for me. But anyways, my naturopathic doctors have been great. I'm going tomorrow for another session. Next, I need to control my PCOS. Haven't gotten my period since march and my face is breaking out like crazy and I look so fat and bloated that I'm pretty sure people think I'm at least 3 months preggo. sigh. I really do exercise and eat healthy. I promise. My body's just a tad bit confused right now.
Other than that, Life is good :) Read more...

For someone who doesn't like needles, I certainly got my share of poking this week. I needed to get some lab tests done, and then a tb test for work. On monday night, I went in for an acupunture session at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine Medical Center. It was really cool! For those of you who have never gotten it done (this was my first time), I'll tell you a bit about what they do. They start off by looking at your tongue and then feeling your pulse. Apparently you can tell a lot about how your body is doing by the color and shape of your tongue. My doctor was so informative! Next, I laid down and they used really thin needles and placed them in certain points all over my body- this depends on what you need most. Sometimes, she would hit certain points, my "chi" spots and they would hurt a tiny bit but it wasn't bad. There were a couple of points in my ear that bled (a drop) when the needles were taken out and it turns out that happens because I had excessive chi in my uterus. They focused on my hormonal balance and liver/period issues. I have my follow up next week, so we'll see how it goes. It's really neat how the body functions and just how many channels of energy there are. Hopefully my body will start having balance. I'm ready to be 100% healthy!

Work was awful today. Some lady tried to get free stuff off of me, didn't succeed, lied and complained. I got yelled at by her nurse. I was called rude and pushy (which is really an oxymoron for me) and was humilated in the hospital hallway. I cried. I punched the nurse in the face and skipped happily out of the hospital. The end.
Ok... So I didn't punch her in the face. I wanted to sooo bad. But I had to be the bigger person. I'm sooo over people like that. Ugh. But guess what? What goes around comes around.
Hope everyone's week is going better than mine.
Day 3
>> Thursday, April 28, 2011
I finally went back to eating low-carb (my doctor will be proud). I also convinced Jared to do it with me. It's so much easier when you have support. My poor husband is hanging in there. We've been doing it since Tuesday. This is what we've had to eat:
Tuesday
Breakfast
Veggie/protein smoothie
Lunch
tuna salad
Dinner
cauliflower pizza (I'll have to post the recipe later. This is delicious!)
Wednesday
Breakfast
veggie omelet
Lunch
tuna ceviche with gluten free crackers
Dinner
leftover pizza
Thursday
Breakfast
soy milk/banana/flax seed smoothie (yum!)
Lunch
Mexican hot dogs with romaine lettuce instead of buns
Dinner
Chicken nuggets (homemade with flax seed) and vegetables
Snacks have consisted of almonds, pecans, cheese, sugar-free pudding, and fruit salad
Not bad eh? Let me know if anyone's interested in any recipes. I'll have to take pictures of what I eat more often.
By the way, check this out:
